The first thing I would like you to do is to open Google Adwords Keyword Tool in a separate window. We are going to use this tool to get keyword ideas. I recommend you have a paper and highlighter or pencil ready to highlight or underline possible keywords . We are going to do some serious brainstorming. This may take a couple hours or a couple of days depending on how quickly you work, and the complexity of your topic.

Type in a keyword that describes your topic. Type a word that describes your niche into the search box and enter in the security code.

Instantly hundreds of keywords appear on your computer screen. Print these keywords and either highlight or underline all keywords that are relevant to your website’s content. We will need these keywords for our next search.

What I would like you to do, is find at least 10 keywords that you think will work. Perhaps you can use some of them on other pages as you build your web site. I would pick ones somewhere in the middle of the competition. If there is not enough data, don’t use the keyword(s) on your web site. There is not enough traffic to support it.

If you notice that your keyword brings up to many competitive words or phrases, try narrowing in a little more on your topic.

When you are finished researching your keyword with Google Adwords, try out:
